Join Us in Apulia: BIOVEXO Final Conference to Showcase
Milestones and the Future of Sustainable Xylella Control
As the BIOVEXO project approaches its conclusion at the end of 2025, we are proud to announce our Final Conference, taking place on 13th November 2025 in Apulia, Italy—a region at the very heart of the fight against Xylella fastidiosa.
This full-day event will bring together stakeholders from across Europe, including researchers, industry leaders, farmers, policymakers, and the general public, to reflect on the groundbreaking work that has taken place over the last five years and to explore what lies ahead.
Date/Time: 13th November, 2025 / 09:00 – 17:00
Location: Auditorium G. Boccardi at CRSFA “Basile Caramia” Via Cisternino, 281 – 70010 – Locorotondo (Ba) – Italy
A Day Dedicated to Innovation and Impact
Under the central theme, “Biocontrol of Xylella and its vector in olive trees for integrated pest management,” the conference will feature a rich programme of presentations, expert panels, and interactive discussions. Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of the strategies, solutions, and science developed by the BIOVEXO consortium—solutions rooted in sustainability, innovation, and real-world application.
From laboratory research to field trials in Italy and Spain, BIOVEXO has been committed to finding natural, effective alternatives to chemical treatments, with a special focus on biocontrol methods targeting both the Xylella bacterium and its insect vector. The final conference is a chance to see how far we’ve come—and where we are heading next.
Sharing Achievements and Looking Forward
Attendees will hear from project partners and stakeholders involved in biocontrol products in some of Europe’s most vulnerable olive-growing regions.
Key sessions will explore field applications, environmental safety data, and new insights into integrated pest management systems that can help future-proof Mediterranean agriculture. Importantly, we’ll also explore how the project’s outcomes can be scaled, adopted, and built upon—ensuring lasting impact beyond the project’s end.
Be Part of the Conversation
Whether you’re a policymaker shaping agricultural regulations, a grower seeking practical solutions, or a scientist exploring plant health innovations, this conference is an opportunity to connect, learn, and contribute.
